St Mary's Radcliffe on Trent

Working in love to glorify God
and proclaim Jesus Christ as Saviour

On Saturday 20th September the "Apple Party" took place in St Mary's Church Hall. This came about as a result of two factors- the huge crop of apples on the trees in the vicarage garden, and the harrowing news about the Christian refugees in Northern Iraq. We therefore felt inspired to do what we could, and went about raising money for these people, using apples as the means.

We had a really good day, doing and eating all things relating to apples, raising a total of £588.57. We also spent time praying for God's help for these dear people.

Thanks to all who supported the event and helped in any way.

Congratulations to our churchwarden Dave on completing his sponsored bike ride Saturday 6 September 2014 from Radcliffe to Skegness, all of 80 miles using back routes. Christine & I drove (the easy way) to Woodhall Spa to meet up with him for lunch. Waiting there we were joined by Margaret and his son Peter who were supporting him on his bike ride. Dave estimated that he would arrive at Woodhall Spa about 1.30pm and almost to the minutes there he was cycling up the main street to St. Peter's Church where we caught up with him. After a quick bite to eat he set off on the final 33 miles to Skegness where he arrived about 5.30pm outside St. Matthew's Church.  Well done Dave raising over £1300 for the Roof Appeal fund.
