21st March

"WEEKEND SPECIAL".   14th/16th May.  Copies of an A4 briefing sheet about this weekend are available at the back of the Church for members of the congregation who did not receive one at the services on Mothering Sunday.

THANK-YOU: Mary Fox wishes to thank her friends at St Mary’s for all the gifts of sewing machines, tools and Christian books to be sent to Africa.  They are a great blessing to those who love to draw closer to the Lord and also be self-reliant.  If you wish to know more about these charities or have any gifts collect, please get in touch.

ST. MARY'S ART EXHIBITION
: After much thought I have decided to resign from the Art Exhibition Committee.  If St. Mary's is to benefit from this event then there needs to be a strong representation from St. Mary's on the committee particularly to liaise with the artists, the borough council who sponsor the first prize in the Rushcliffe Competition, and to send out and receive all the entry forms etc.  I have on my computer the names of all the artists who are invited to take part and I am happy to let whoever is prepared to take my place to have them.  If no one comes forth then this event, which is a major part of village life, is likely to lapse, or if it does take place will not necessarily benefit St. Mary's.  I am also giving up co-ordinating the annual Christmas Fair but fortunately Dave Townsend has agreed to do this job for 2010.  The reason for making this decision is that I wish to concentrate on a project which will become clear as the year progresses.  Martin Skeffington.

HOLIDAY CLUB CRAFTS:  Many thanks to everyone who has provided items for Holiday Club, we have got all the cereal boxes and other items now so no more please. Thank you to the people who have been preparing items for me, finished work can be left in the box at the back of church.
