ELECTORAL ROLL: A revision of the Electoral Roll is currently taking place in readiness for St Mary’s AGM on 26 April. If you are not on the Electoral Roll and would like to be added to it, please complete one of the forms on the notice board at the rear of the church by Sunday 11 April. If you are not sure whether or not you are already on the Roll, you can check by referring to the current copy of the Roll (also on the notice board) or contact Carol Payne, Electoral Roll Officer.
DEANERY TRAINING DAY: A Deanery Training Day in Pastoral Care is to be held on Saturday 8th May in the Church Hall from 10.00-3:00. This is a ‘taster day’ for those interested in developing Pastoral Ministry’. Led by Rev Alison Cox (Diocesan Lay Training Officer), sessions will include Pastoral Visiting, Listening Skills and Bereavement Support. For more information please speak to Graeme Anderson or contact Deaneryadmin@btconnect.
ST. MARY'S ART EXHIBITION: After much thought I have decided to resign from the Art Exhibition Committee. If St. Mary's is to benefit from this event then there needs to be a strong representation from St. Mary's on the committee particularly to liaise with the artists, the borough council who sponsor the first prize in the Rushcliffe Competition, and to send out and receive all the entry forms etc. I have on my computer the names of all the artists who are invited to take part and I am happy to let whoever is prepared to take my place to have them. If no one comes forth then this event, which is a major part of village life, is likely to lapse, or if it does take place will not necessarily benefit St. Mary's. I am also giving up co-ordinating the annual Christmas Fair but fortunately Dave Townsend has agreed to do this job for 2010. The reason for making this decision is that I wish to concentrate on a project
A WARM WELCOME AT ST MARY’S! The members of the Welcome Team help visitors and newcomers to feel welcome at St Mary’s by talking to them after the service in a friendly and welcoming way. The Pastoral Care Committee want to expand the team. Please pray about this and if you think that it could be a worthwhile ministry for you then please speak to Carol Payne, David Hodder or Eve Drew. A training session will be offered shortly to existing team members together with anyone else who would like to join them.
