LENT MEETINGS: Following on from the success of previous years, CTR have again planned a joint Lent Course for the four churches in the village. The course is designed so that those in regular house groups can meet others during Lent, but it is also an opportunity for others to share this experience.  Many people have found the joint Lent Course an ideal opportunity to meet other Christians in the village.  Whether or not you already attend a house group, do consider attending this 5 week course which starts week commencing Monday, 22 February.  The sessions are "self-contained", so if you are only able to attend for some of the meetings you will not be at a disadvantage. If you would like to attend, please complete one of the forms available at the back of church and give it to Eve Drew, Carol Payne or Julia Hancock.

NEW LINK DISTRIBUTOR REQUIRED: A new distributor is urgently needed to take over the delivery of LINK magazine on Morton Gardens & Morton Close off Northfield Avenue, last road on the right going out of the village on the Grantham Road. If you live on or near this area and would like to help then please contact Jenny Hudson - e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it as soon as possible. Thank you.

OUR NEW BISHOP; The new Bishop of Southwell & Nottingham will be inducted in February.  There are no seats available for that service, but two welcome services are being planned where there will be no seat allocation so anyone can go. These are:- St. Mary’s Nottingham at 4pm on Sunday 7th March and Worksop priory of St Mary & St. Cuthbert at 4pm on 14th March.

SEED SCATTERING: This will be taking place during the week-end 14th, 15th and 16th May.  All members of the church family are invited to take part and bring their friends/acquaintances along.  There will be a sports quiz and a hog roast amongst other events and the Bishop of Sherwood will be in attendance.  Chris Gaunt is heading the organising committee and further information can be gained from him.

PRAYER SPONSORS: A group of young people will shortly begin the Youth Alpha course which, if they so choose, will lead to Confirmation in The Minster on May 9th.  We are looking for prayer sponsors .  If you would like to be considered please speak to Graeme, Ted Ward or Jude McLauchlan.

PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION We are holding a photographic competition to raise funds for St Mary's on Saturday 24 April. The theme of the competition is 'Circles' and imagination is as important as technical merit.  Full details of the competition can be found in the entry forms available in church and St Mary's Hall.  Please contact me with any queries - Dave Townsend

FUNDRAISING - EBAY SALES:
I am still selling items on eBay to fundraise and to date I have reached just over £9700.  I am targeting £10,000 as a figure to reach! I am still looking for items to sell.  Recently I have sold a lot of old knitting patterns as these seem to be popular.  If, therefore, anyone has any such items they no longer want or need and are happy to let me have them to sell to fundraise please let me know.  Crochet patterns would also be acceptable. Many thanks. Martin Skeffington.
