St Mary's Radcliffe on Trent

Working in love to glorify God
and proclaim Jesus Christ as Saviour

PCC - January 08

PCC met on 7 January. Seven members were present.

The meeting opened with a presentation by Julia Hancock outlining the Radcliffe on Trent Community Youth Project. Julia described the project in terms of two basic elements: one faith based supported by the churches, the other element non faith-based funded from civil resources.
In view of the importance of judging the support of the whole church family it was agreed that an open meeting should be held on Sunday 27 January, after the 10:00am service.

The 2007 Parish Share (£54,500) has been paid in full, for the first time in a number of years. The Parish Share for 2008 stands at £55,775, net of a rebate of £360, recognising our regular standing order payments during 2007. General Fund is £3,825, and the Fabric Fund £892.

The 2007 Christmas Dinner once again proved a great success, and a vote of thanks was passed in recognition of David & Julia Hancock’s efforts.

The building of the new St Mary’s Hall progresses, although some slippage has occurred it is still expected to be completed on time.

£279,975 has been paid towards construction costs. The Appeal Fund stands at £15,471 in the bank and £530,000 in the money market.

Fund raising for the hall continues, with the most recent event being a dinner at the Jade Garden on 23 January 2008.

We await guidance from the Diocese about how the hand over of responsibility for the churchyard can be finalised.

Next meeting: Monday 4 February, 7.30 pm.

Staffing: - Apart from looking for a second Churchwarden, we also need a PCC Secretary and a Child Protection Officer.
