Working in love to glorify God
and proclaim Jesus Christ as Saviour

PCC Reports
July

The PCC met on Monday 5th July with 13 members present.

The General Fund stands at £30,204 and the Fabric Fund stands at £884.

It was noted that Sheila Bainbridge has resigned as Verger as has Maureen Rawson.  Peter Haynes and Margaret Scothern have offered their assistance with Verger’s duties until a new Verger can be found.

A sub-committee was formed to look at the question of charitable giving with a view to revising the list of charities currently being supported by St Mary’s.

A new caretaker has been appointed for the hall but is not yet functional due to family problems. Members are assisting in hall duties.

A quotation for a new sound system was accepted and a faculty is being sought.  Due to the cost, donations are now being sought and if anyone would like to donate towards this they should hand any monies to one of the wardens.

Revd. Graeme reported that he is making very worthwhile contacts with Dayncourt School.. He also said he is very grateful to have the assistance of a part-time administrator.  A lunchtime bible study group session had been held and very well attended and it is intended to hold an evening session at some point, perhaps in a local pub.  Revd. Graeme also reported that more infant baptisms are taking place both at St Mary’s and Shelford. The Parish Council has requested our involvement in the event of turning on the Christmas lights.

The Tower Room in church is being converted into a Crèche Room and the PCC agreed that £500 would be allocated to refurbish the room for that purpose.  Lorraine Foster has agreed to oversee this project on behalf of the PCC.

It was reported that Clare and Andy Tuffnell had now finished their work in Uganda and are home working in Cheltenham.
