The congregations of St Mary’s, Radcliffe on Trent and Ss Peter & Paul, Shelford look forward to welcoming Graeme and Judy Anderson when Graeme arrives to take up the post of Priest-in-Charge. Graeme will be installed by the Bishop of Sherwood at St Mary’s at 7.30 pm on 1st September.

Previously the owner of a business consultancy specialising in IT, company troubleshooting, leadership development and team building, Graeme trained for ministry at St John’s College, Nottingham, being ordained in 2003. His curacy at Bristol has been followed by his work as Associate Vicar of Galleywood, Chelmsford, where he has had a wide-ranging ministry. His responsibilities have included home group oversight, Alpha Groups, Lay evangelist supervision, Church at the School, (a second congregation), Evening services, work with schools, marriage preparation, children’s work and the children’s crèche. Graeme also maintained links with a sister church in Poland and ran "Meet the Vicar" in a local café. On top of all these he took a share of weddings, maintained musical activity of the Church at the local school and ran a Tweenagers group! Graeme has been involved as a tutor on the Chelmsford Diocesan Reader training course. He has also been a school governor and leader of a successful ecumenical youth club.

Graeme says that his churchmanship is ‘open evangelical’ He trusts in the authority of the Bible and is open to learn from others about their own life experiences of the Christian faith. He loves to connect with people ‘where they are now’ and has a heart for evangelism. He believes in a collaborative style of leadership and will be working for growth amongst children and teenagers.

Judy’s love is gardening and property maintenance – not afraid to get her hands dirty! She is fully supportive of Graeme’s ministry. Judy and Graeme share a love of motorcycling, and Graeme enjoys golf and playing drums.
We are really looking forward to Graeme and Judy’s arrival and we hope that everyone will do their best to make them feel really welcome and help them to become a part of our church and community families.
