Sharing God's Love

Historical Pictures

We now have a series of photographs, kindly supplied by Mike Shaw, which show things as they were. We are not certain of the date they were taken but believe it was late 1940's or early 50's.

Arthur Lygo, giving his son, Ken, some instruction on the theory of change ringing.

Stephen Loach enjoying a hearty meal, perhaps after ringing a quarter peal!

We do not know names of all the ringers but believe ringers 2, 3 and 4, anticlockwise from the bottom, are Messrs.  Loach, Spencer and Cross. Note the more formal dress, ties and waistcoats for all.

This shows the band waiting for the tower to be unlocked, they would then climb 27 steps to reach the ringing room. Overcoats were obviously the dress of the day then.
